Project Overview
Design and Commissioning of Backup Power Systems for Critical Oilfield Operations
Iraq
Energy
As part of a broader infrastructure enhancement for an oil field development project in the Middle East, our engineering team was tasked with delivering the design, integration, and commissioning of synchronization systems for eight diesel generators. These generators were configured to provide both primary and backup power across several critical operational zones, requiring high availability and precise load management.
Our Solution
Designed and deployed custom low-voltage panels for load sharing, system protection, and monitoring across all generator units.
Implemented synchronization logic using DSE8610 controllers, ensuring accurate phase matching, frequency control, and seamless load transfer.
Developed dual-generator parallel operation protocols with embedded safety interlocks and emergency shutdown capabilities.
Conducted cable sizing, routing, and protection relay configuration in compliance with IEC standards and site-specific requirements.
Key Outcomes
Provide power to the oil wells to send the crude oil to a gathering site (OGM).
Achieved stable and reliable power supply redundancy across mission-critical facilities.
Minimized generator downtime through intelligent fault management and auto-recovery systems.
Provided hands-on training to on-site technicians, enhancing local O&M capacity.
