AMR Consultancy was contracted to support the design and enhancement of the Generator Control Unit (GCU) for the Bombardier Global 5000 — a long-range private jet designed for business and executive aviation. The GCU is a critical component of the aircraft’s auxiliary power system, forming part of a four-channel, three-phase generating system rated at 115 volts line to neutral, operating between 324 and 596 Hz. Each GCU controls a 40 KVA generator and ensures stable voltage regulation and safe integration with the aircraft's electrical bus system.
AMR collaborated closely with the client to refine the control logic, enhance hardware design, and ensure system-wide compatibility. The solution required precision engineering to meet aerospace certification standards and achieve seamless performance across all generator channels.
Project Outcome
Delivered a robust and modular GCU solution achieving high reliability and consistency across all generator channels, significantly improving voltage regulation and reducing system response times.
Strengthened AMR Consultancy’s reputation in aviation electrical systems engineering, demonstrating capabilities in collaborative projects with international aerospace manufacturers.
